Nick,
Thanks for the advise for nude hiking near Villa Ricos,
at beginnig of October we try it with my wife

/ Heikki

Have you got a report?

We will be doing the mountain hikes and cove bathing again on our visit in a couple of weeks time.
Anyone want to be shown the way?

I'm hoping to do all the peaks this time as I've been training and have drawn a map!  Shocked

Well it's coming to the end of our visit this year.  Cry

I have done 3 hikes up the Sierra Almagrera. One of them was over 6 hrs and was completely nude.

I have been to three different summits, there are about 3 more all virtually the same height. They are around 320m above sea level.

On 2 of the peaks there was an unmarked mine shaft within 20m of the summit cairns right at the top! So constant care is needed!

Above Los Lobos I found the partially restored steam engine which is the oldest of it's kind that is still in situ anywhere in the world. Other mining evidence is everywhere and I also saw the tramway tunnel that linked Los Lobos with Cala de Conches on the coast.

In about 12 hrs hiking only saw 12 other hikers that were in a group.

Is there anyone else who has hiked here?
It really is very interesting and quite a challenge.

Regarding the coves.

We used two of them again on our recent visit. Each time we were joined by other nude bathers.  Smiley
The sea was very warm but there was more sea grass than last year. This makes it easier for the fish to hide so snorkeling was not so good despite very clear water before the winds on Sept 4th. Still saw a couple of v big fish though as well as sufficient smaller ones.

We also went to Carolinas beach past San Juan de T. Described as Currichinco Cobh on here. This is no longer practical for naturist use.  Sad

Great to see my tips were of some use, even if the beach didn't turn out to be useful.  Sorry about that.

Carolinas is a nice beach and has a nice beach bar with good service.
It has 'Flintstones' style cave houses around it which are a great photo opportunity.
Sadly loads of textiles in early Sept 2008.  Sad
Though I believe it can be used naturist from Oct onwards. (when I think the beach bar has shut for the end of season)
